What's Up Wednesday

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress): No writing work done last week due to my hand injury. I went to the doctor's on Monday to have the wound examined. My fingers no longer need to be taped together for stabilization and my hand no longer has to be kept above my heart 24/7. The wound is still heavily bandaged, but I should be able to type with at least the last two fingers on my left hand. I'm hoping to get some writing related stuff done this week. I'm not sure how much I'll get accomplished, but getting even a few pages done will be better than nothing.

What I'm Reading: I'm still reading "Mine Until Moonrise" by Jennifer Bernard. I'm enjoying it, but haven't had a lot of time to read.

Random Thoughts: I received my new phone. It's all set up and everything was able to be transferred from my pld phone without any issues. I like being having a phone that actually works properly and doesn't overheat. I guess I shouldn't have complained about getting a new one.

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress): No writing work done last week due to my hand injury. 

Quote of the Week: "I'm an optimist, but an optimist who carries a raincoat." ~ Harold Wilson  I repeated the quote from a couple of weeks ago because with all of the negative things that have been happening lately, I felt like I needed the reminder that optimism is the better outlook.

What I'm Reading: I plan on starting "Mine Until Moonrise" by Jennifer Bernard this evening. 

Random Thoughts: Although I'm right handed and my injury was to my left hand, I'm learning how much I used the first two fingers on my left hand now that I can't.

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress): I spent time with family on Thanksgiving and Friday. Between doing the baking for the holiday, visiting with family and working on making holiday cards, I didn't do any writing last week.

What I'm Reading: I still reading the ebook Set The Night On Fire by Jennifer Bernard. I'm enjoying it, but having a hard time finding time to read.

Random Thoughts: I haven't done Black Friday shopping where you arrive at the store at an ungodly hour in years, but this year, my mom and I got up and were at JoAnn's at 6:00am. It wasn't very crowded and there was very little traffic which surprised me.

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress): I managed to revise another chapter in Honor Bound last week. I'm not sure how many pages I'll get revised each week between now and Christmas since I have holiday cards to make and the usual hustle and bustle of buying and wrapping gifts and all the baking I do at this time of the year.

What I'm Reading: I started the ebook Set The Night On Fire by Jennifer Bernard. This is the first book in the Jupiter Point series.

Random Thoughts: When reading a book at night, I prefer to read a paperback or hard cover book over an ebook. It's nothing against ebooks. I've read some great ones. It's just that I'm afraid I'll fall asleep while reading on my Kindle and it fall off the bed and break.

I read every night before I go to sleep. It might only be a few pages, but I can't seem to fall asleep if I don't do it.

This week...

My current WIP (work in progress): I haven't done any writing or revisions since my surgery. I probably won't get back to it until after next week.

Quote of the Week: “Small changes and small steps lead to big changes and a new you.” ~ Unknown. This seemed apt as I recover from the ankle surgery. 

What I'm reading: I just finished a book last night and will be starting Drive You Wild by Jennifer Bernard tonight. This is the 3rd book in her Love Between the Bases series. 

Random things: I haven't been able to do a whole lot since the surgery and have been housebound as well. I'm currently in a soft cast and the surgeon doesn't want me going out and about until I get the hard cast next Monday. Not that I'm in any mood to go shopping or whatnot. I'd forgotten how inconvenient it is to get around on crutches.

My current WIP (work in progress): I didn't get any revision work done. The good news is all but completely recovered from her surgery. Hope to get back in the writing groove this week.

What I'm reading: Caught By You by Jennifer Bernard. This is the second book in Ms. Bernard's Love Between the Bases series. If you're a fan of baseball (or even if you're not), this is a great series.

Random things:  I went to the bridal shower for my nephew's fiancee last Sunday. It was a lot of fun. I'm so happy for them both.  M is a warm, wonderful woman. I can't wait until she's an "official" member of the family.
