What's Up Wednesday

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress):  I went through 90 more manuscript pages last week. I'm hoping to do the same this week.

Quote of the Week:  "When life brings big winds of change that almost blow you over, close your eyes, hold on tight, and believe." ~ Lisa Lieberman-Wang

What I'm Reading: I still reading "Murder with Cinnamon Scones" by Karen Rose Smith. I'm struggling a bit with this book. I think it's mainly because I wasn't able to read the first book in the series, but the pacing is dragging a bit as well. I'm trying to decide if I will read any more books in the series.

Random Thoughts:  I'm going to try and do a lot of baking the next couple of weekends so I have plenty of bread to freeze for the summer months. I bought coconut oil for a Asian chicken recipe and now have to figure out how I'm going to use the rest of the container so I found a couple of new recipes that call for coconut oil that I want to make.

Happy Easter/Passover

I realize I'm a bit early for Easter and that Passover started on Wednesday, but I'd like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.

What's Up Wednesday

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress):  I went through 90 manuscript pages making a few minor tweaks to make the story flow better. I feel like I'm back on track after not doing well the two weeks prior.

Quote of the Week: "You have power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength." ~ Marcus Aurelius  (I'm repeating last week's quote as I think it's important given what's going on with Covid-19.)

What I'm Reading: I started "Murder with Cinnamon Scones" by Karen Rose Smith on Monday evening. It's the second book in the Daisy's Tea Garden mystery series. I'm a little lost because I haven't read the first book in the series.

Random Thoughts:  I don't consider myself a big TV watcher, but now that the few shows I do watch are ending and no shows for the summer are starting, I'm finding I have more free time than I usually do. I'm hoping to get back to working on my knitting.

Free Classes

She Writes University is offering a number of free classes and webinars until May 31st on a variety of subjects. Even if you aren't a writer, you might find some of the subjects of interest. For example, one of the classes is a deep dive into Instagram. This is one of the classes I want to check out as I know next to nothing about Instagram. Here is the link if you are interested - https://shewritesuniversity.com/free/

This I know for sure...

Even though I still have to go out to work during the week, I was feeling a bit cooped up last weekend. Sunday it was a beautiful sunny 70 degree day so I decided to step outside to get some fresh air for a bit. I stayed on the front porch until I noticed a few flowers trying to poke their way through the left over leaves from autumn that never got raked up.

Since neither of my neighbors on each side of my house were outside, I went down into the yard and pulled some of the dead leaves away so the hyacinths that are just starting to sprout would have room to grow. I also removed the old leaves from a few crocuses that have flowered. These were a nice surprise because I've never planted crocuses in the yard.

Here are photos of a couple of the crocuses I found -

What's Up Wednesday

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress): Last week's progress was negligible. I'm still having a hard time concentrating. I did take an online class about story structure that was interesting.

Quote of the Week: "You have power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength." ~ Marcus Aurelius

What I'm Reading: I started "A Most Unlikely Duke" by Sophie Barnes this past weekend. I'm having a hard time getting into the story line. I'm hoping it will get better.

Random Thoughts:  I have some apple seeds that I dried and saved from last year. I'm trying to decide if I want to plant them just to see what, if anything, grows.

This is my temperature blanket so far. It's from January 1st up to the first day of spring (3/20).
