What's Up Wednesday

This week...

My Current WIP (Work In Progress): I'm still working on the ending. I've pretty much chucked the ending I had and am rewriting the last 75 pages or so from scratch.

Quote of the Week: "Procrastination is not your friend." ~ Unknown

What I'm Reading: I'm reading Dim Sum of All Fears by Vivien Chien. This is the second book in the Noodle Shop mystery series.

Random Thoughts:  I haven't worked on my temperature blanket for about a month. It's just been too hot to sit with a blanket over your lap while you're trying to work on it. I am still keeping track of each day's temperature though. It's supposed to be cooler this week so I'm hoping I'll be able to work on it a bit so I'm not quite so far behind the current date.

What's Up Wednesday

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress): Last week's progress was negligible. I'm still having a hard time concentrating. I did take an online class about story structure that was interesting.

Quote of the Week: "You have power over your mind, not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength." ~ Marcus Aurelius

What I'm Reading: I started "A Most Unlikely Duke" by Sophie Barnes this past weekend. I'm having a hard time getting into the story line. I'm hoping it will get better.

Random Thoughts:  I have some apple seeds that I dried and saved from last year. I'm trying to decide if I want to plant them just to see what, if anything, grows.

Random Photo of the Week:

This is my temperature blanket so far. It's from January 1st up to the first day of spring (3/20).

This I know for sure...

A friend sent me a link for a Facebook page - Repeat Crafter Me - about a temperature blanket. The concept is to crochet one row for each day of the year. The color for each row is determined by the high temperature for that day. I never heard of this before so I decided to make one this year.

This is the color guide that was given. The suggested stitch is a granny stripe stitch. I decided to use various shades of yellow starting with a pale yellow up to an orangy yellow for stripes from 54 degrees to the 89 degrees and above temperature ranges instead of the colors shown here. I'm also using a standard V stitch instead of the granny stripe stitch.

Here's what mine looks like. It's only up through January 21st. I usually wait until I can do three or four days/rows at a time instead of doing one row a day.  It's hard to tell the purple from the dark blue in the picture. The row at the top of the photo is for January 21st.
