What's Up Wednesday

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress): I am shopping around for images to send to the person who will be doing the covers for the book that's completed and for the book I'll have finished in mid-February (if not before). It's an interesting process, shopping for images and everything that entails.

Quote of the Week: "You don't win because you do one thing right or two things right. You win because you do 1,000 little things right throughout the year." ~ Susan Butcher   This quote is from my December 11th post, but I thought it as a good quote to start the new year with.

What I'm Reading:  I'm reading by Ellie Alexander. It's the eighth book in the Bakeshop mystery series.Till Death Do Us Tart

Random Thoughts:  I had January 1st through the 5th off from my day job so while Monday was the 6th day in the new year, it felt like it was the first day of the new year to me. Maybe because it was the first day that I was back to my normal routine.

Hello 2020!

I have big plans for this new year. (Don't we all?)  I'm still nailing down my goals as I don't want to set myself up for failure. I've taken a good, long look at my 2019 goals and which ones I met and which ones I didn't and why.

Some of those unmet 2019 goals have been moved farther into the future which is probably where they should have been from the start. Some of those unmet goals have been dropped completely as they were either redundant or shouldn't have been goals to start with. They should have been listed under a "To Strive For" label.

The unmet goals that should have been or could have been completed are moving to my 2020 goals list. I'm still tinkering with that list. I want to find a better way to keep myself on track/hold myself accountable than the method I used last year because obviously that didn't work so well.

One thing I have decided on is my word for the year. It is "Focused." This year I will be focused - not only on my writing, but on eating better, moving more (or at least more consistently), and not letting my email pile up. I'm great at reading/checking my email, but the items I want to save just sit in my inbox and I can't find anything I'm looking for when I need it which kind of defeats the point of saving the information to begin with.

Here's to a wonderful new beginning to all of us.

Holiday Holidays and Hiatus

I've got so much going on holiday related that I'm finding it hard to get blog posts put together and posted so I've decided to take a hiatus from doing blog posts beginning today through the beginning of the new year. I'll be back with a new post on Monday, January 6th.

I hope you and your families have a wonderful holiday season.

This I know for sure...

One of the things I like best about the Christmas season is the music. I love Christmas music from the old time classics by Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, and Andy Williams to "new" classics by Mariah Carey and Vince Vance and the Valiants and more. I would listen to this type of music all year long if people wouldn't think I was crazy.

What's Up Wednesday

This week...

My Current WIP (Work in Progress): I am done with the manuscript I was revising/editing. Whew! It took me long enough. I'm taking a hiatus from writing until the start of the new year.

What I'm Reading: I started reading "A Highlander Walks into a Bar" by Laura Trentham. It's the first book in her new Highland Georgia Series

Random Thoughts: Back in October when my mom and I discussed what we were going to do for Christmas this year, we decided we were going to cut back on our cookie baking. Well, that went out the window. My mom is making 5 different types of cookies and I am making 6 different types.Random Thoughts:Rand
