Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related: I didn't quite get through the first third of Ivan's story, but close. I hope to get through most of the second third of the book this week.

Motivational Quote: "Half hearted commitment won't produce half hearted results, rather it will produce no results worth measuring. Real results will only come with full and total commitment." ~ Unknown

What I'm Reading: I'm currently reading The Corpse in the Gazebo by Debra Sennefelder. This is the 5th book in the Food Blogger mystery series. I really like this series and hope it continues for quite some time.

Random Things:  It's hard to believe it's the 24th already. There's only 7 more days left in the month. I hope it's not a sign that the whole year is going to fly by just as quickly. Though the quicker we get to warmer weather and are done with the ice and snow isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related: I wrote 25 pages of new material on the new manuscript. I'm still playing around with titles for it. I haven't settled on one I like yet. I contacted a friend who is a professional photographer to see if she has an opening to do an author photo/head shot of me. I'm just waiting to hear back from her on a date that works for us both. I also prepared the front and back matter for the Ebook version of Honor Bound.

Motivational Quote: "Believe you can and you're halfway there." ~ Theodore Roosevelt

What I'm Reading: I'm currently reading Three Widows and a Corpse by Debra Sennefelder. This is the third book in the Food Blogger mystery series.

Random Things: We had next to no snow for November, December, and January - Only 12.9 inches total for all three months. Well the last week of January came and so did the snow. We've had at least an inch or more of snow every day since January 28th to the present with the exception of February 4th. There actually was no snow that day. We now have over 48 inches of snow, most of it falling in the last 3 weeks. After the winter started out with so little snow for almost three months, I was hoping we'd have an easy winter. Looks like that won't happen after all.

Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related: I finished writing the book. I can't believe it. It's taken far too long. I also followed up with my local government office regarding the status of my DBA application. I was given an estimated time frame of an additional two weeks before I receive it in the mail. I also updated my beta reader questions to go with this new book. I hope to get the book and questions out to my beta readers by mid week of this week.

Motivational Quote: I'm repeating last week's quote because these are the questions we should ask ourselves if we really want to achieve something, no matter what it is.  "What's going to stop you? What's going to stand in your way? What's going to keep you from achieving your success?" ~ John Legend

What I'm Reading: I'm reading The Hidden Corpse by Debra Sennefelder. This is the second book in the Food Blogger mystery series.

Random Things: Like everyone else in January, I'm trying to lose the weight I put on over the holidays. At the same time, I want to bake. And I'm craving all those things you shouldn't eat if you're trying to lose weight and/or eat healthy like cookies, pizza, french fries, and oh, I'm absolutely craving a sandwich from a local sub shop. I haven't had one of their sandwiches in almost a year and now it's all I'm thinking about.
