This I know for sure...

I have a twitter account and have had one for about 8 years or so, but rarely use it. I do follow some people and have people who follow me. I think they follow me because I don't clutter up their feed since I rarely tweet or retweet anything. 😀

The main reason I don't use twitter is it's so hard to follow a conversation or have a conversation with all these tweets coming at you every second interrupting the flow. I wish there was a way to separate out different streams of tweets so that anything promotional goes in one stream, anything news related in another, personal tweets in another etc. Or a way to see all the tweets relating to the same topic in one stream so it's easier to follow.

Maybe there is a way to set up your twitter account this way and I just don't know about it. Because I don't use it often, I'm not very familiar with the ins and outs of it.

Please feel free to share any suggestions or tips you find work for you.

This I know for sure...

I don't know how to reach new readers.  That I definitely know for sure.  I blog, belong to Goodreads, have an author page on Amazon, have a fan page on Facebook, and a regular Facebook page.  I also guest blog when I can. I have a Twitter account but I haven't really done anything with it at this point. But in doing all this, I usually only reach the same people.  At least it's usually the same people who leave a comment etc.  Not that I'm complaining.  I'm very, very grateful for those people who read my posts, comment on or like my Facebook status, etc. I'm just not sure how to expand my reach.

I'd love to hear any ideas you might have or things you've done that you think helped  :o)

What I'm Reading Wednesday

This week I'm reading two books. 

I'm reading Goodnight Tweetheart by Teresa Medeiros for pleasure.  I need to take the plunge and sign up for a Twitter account but I'm so intimidated by it, I keep putting it off.  I thought maybe reading about it first might help or so I keep telling myself.  :o)

And

I'm reading The Man Who Broke Napoleon's Codes by Mark Urban for research purposes.  I hope to have my current manuscript finished by the middle of October so I'm working on laying the ground work, jotting down ideas, sketching out characters, and the like for my next book.
