Monday Check In

Last week:

Writing Related: I finished the suggested changes from my beta readers and formatted the manuscript for publishing. That will happen this week. I also nailed down the blurb for the 3rd book.

Motivational Quote: "When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around." ~ Willie Nelson

What I'm Reading:  I started reading Death by Auction by Alexis Morgan a few days ago. This is the third book in the Abby McCree mystery series. I'm really enjoying this series and have already picked up the 4th book.

Random Things:  I am visiting the Wild Women Authors blog today along with Ava Tiernan, the main female character from Promises to Keep. If you'd like to stop by, here is the link: Wild Women Authors blog

Monday Check In

Last week:

Writing Related: Still working on the blurb for the 3rd book. I should have the feedback from my beta readers for Promises to Keep by tomorrow. I'm hoping to have any suggested changes/corrections completed by the end of this coming weekend.

Motivational Quote: "Great accomplishments are earned in small gains." ~ Unknown

What I'm Reading: I started reading The Bounty by Janet Evanovich and Steve Hamilton last Friday. It's the 7th book in the Fox and O'Hare series. I didn't read the 6th book but I don't feel lost at all by not reading it before reading this one.

Random Things:  Mrs. Green ventured out on to the back porch for the first time in 3 years. She normally runs in the opposite direction when you open the door. She tried to hide behind the potted plant I keep on the porch and only stayed outside for about 2 minutes before she wanted to go back inside. Meanwhile her brother likes to go out on the back porch as often as possible. Every day when I come home from work, he's waiting at the door to come out. I let him out onto the porch to bask in the sun for a few minutes and then we go inside.

Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related: I'm waiting for the feedback from my beta readers on Promises to Keep so I didn't do any actual writing last week. Instead I worked on the blurb for the next book in the series so I can include it in the back of Promises to Keep when it's published.

Motivational Quote: "Hope never tires of reminding us that what seemed impossible yesterday is, again, likely today." ~ Yahia Lababidi

What I'm Reading: I'm still reading Locked and Loaded by Mandy Baxter. I'm trying hard to finish it, but I keep picking up other things to read instead.

Random Things: My nephew bought a rose bush for my mom's birthday last summer. We stayed up on the porch (fully masked) while he planted it in the yard. I was worried it wouldn't survive the winter because it was so small. I'm happy to say not only did it survive last winter, it's blooming like crazy. I've put a picture below.

Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related:  I did it. I finished Promises to Keep. About three weeks behind schedule, but it's done! I sent it out to beta readers yesterday. Hopefully they won't find too much that will need to be revised so I can get any changes done within a couple of days.

Motivational Quote: "Everything is in your head. Whatever you want to do you will do it. It's a master mind game. If I want to make it, I'll make it. If I want to do it, I'll do it." ~ Zlatan Ibrahimovic

What I'm Reading: I've been reading Locked and Loaded by Mandy Baxter for the last week or so. I'm finding it slow going. Maybe because it's the 5th book in the series and I don't believe I've read any of the earlier books in the series.

Random Things: I got a new car a couple of weeks ago. The lease on my old car was ending. I couldn't wait to get rid of it. I live in an area that gets a lot of snow and the way the car was designed, the windshield wipers could only be lifted about two inches off the windshield so it was really difficult to get all the ice and snow cleaned out from under them. I didn't realize it when I first leased it, but I sure found out about it the first time it snowed. When I purchased my new car, the first thing I did was make sure I could lift the wipers completely off the windshield.
