I admit I procrastinate, but I don't believe I do it to excess. I get things done in a timely manner and never have to rush around at the last minute because something needs to be done and I've put it off too long.
I have so many things I want to work on or get accomplished that aren't "Required to be done" and I never seem to have enough time to work them. That being said, I always find time to read. I've tried reading less, but after a few days I get cranky and find myself getting irritated over things that aren't worth getting upset about. Reading is my escape, my form of stress relief. I don't think I read to excess. I usually read about an hour each evening. I do tend to read more on the weekends though.
I'm going to try and schedule time each weekend to work on things I've been wanting to get to and can't seem to find the time to actually work on. Hopefully this will help me feel like I'm getting things accomplished and I can still have my precious reading time.

What's Up Wednesday
This week...
My current WIP (work in progress): No progress so far this week. I was summoned for jury duty the first part of the week. I hope to get at least a few pages written the last part of the week.
Quote of the Week: "If you don't make the time to work on creating the life you want, you're eventually going to be forced to spend a lot of time dealing with a life you don't want." ~ Kevin Ngo
What I'm reading: I'm starting Taken by Cynthia Eden tonight. This is the fifth book in the Last Option Search Team (LOST) series. I haven't read any of the others in the series. I'm hoping it's not a series where you have to have read the previous books to know what's going on.
Random Thoughts: I need to stop procrastinating and start getting things done.
Random Photo of the Week:

Believe and Brenda Novak
I came across a piece of advice from New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author Brenda Novak that I'd like to share. The post itself is a bit dated. It's from June 28, 2016 but is still relevant and I feel will be relevant for years to come.
The advice revolves around believing in yourself and your talent. This not only applies to writers but to anyone who has a dream of accomplishing something. I've printed out the post and put it where I'll see it every day because, like most people, I have my days when I suffer from doubts that I will ever accomplish my goal of being able to write full time.
Here's the link: So You Think You Can Write

This I know for sure...
Although I already have too many books on my To Be Read list, I find myself perusing the giveaways on Goodreads. I usually enter a few drawings each week in various categories. Some are for new releases from authors I already read, but the majority are for authors I'm not familiar with.
If my name is drawn and I'm one of the lucky winners, I try to read the book as soon as I receive it and post a review. I do this for two reasons - one: as an author myself, I know how valuable a good review can be and two: I feel it's a way to say thank you to the author who gave me a free book by holding the giveaway.

What's Up Wednesday
This week:
My current WIP (work in progress): No progress last week. This is my last week of working extra hours so I hope to be back to writing next week.
Quote of the Week: “To be able to direct all of your energy into what matters to you most may seem like a distant luxury today, but with a little planning, you could make this happen.” ~Unknown
What I'm reading: Death, Taxes, and Sweet Potato Fries by Diane Kelly.
Random Thoughts: As I look out my window, I can see the buds on the trees begin to open. It's amazing how much this proof that spring is actually here makes me feel lighter and happier.
Random Picture of the Week:
Another sign of spring. I've spotted the bunny that lives in the neighborhood.

What's Up Wednesday
This week...
My current WIP (work in progress): I actually managed get seven pages of new material written last week. It's a dismal amount I know, but I expect to get even less written this week. Between getting things prepped and ready for the upcoming Easter weekend and the extra hours I'll be working at the day job, I don't expect I'll have much time to sit down and write.
Quote of the Week: "It is beautiful to do nothing and then rest afterwards." ~ Spanish proverb. This is my preferred way to spend a Sunday.
What I'm reading: At Close Range by Laura Griffin. This is the latest book in her Tracers series. I highly recommend the series.
Random Thoughts: "Are you serious" - my reaction when I realized next weekend is Easter already. It seems like March took forever to end and April is flying by.
