Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related: Remember last week I said that I should finish "Promises to Keep" unless something unforeseen came up. Well, two unforeseen things came up so I didn't finish the book yet.

Motivational Quote: "The work worth doing centers around your energy, perception and ability. Focus there, and so much else will naturally come together. Focusing elsewhere will be ineffective." ~ Unknown

What I'm Reading: I'm reading The Princess and the Rogue by Kate Bateman. This book is part of the Bow Street Bachelors series.

Random Things:  Mrs. Green used to want to sit on my lap all the time for the first two years after we adopted her from our local humane society. Then she just stopped one day and started sitting next to me instead. Now after almost two years, for the last two weeks she's started wanting to sit on my lap again. I don't know why she stopped, but I'm glad she has started wanting to cuddle again.

Monday Check In

This week...

Writing Related:  I had a good writing week. I didn't finish the book last week like I wanted to. Unless something unforeseen comes up, I should finish it this week. My cover artist is working on the cover. I have to admit I can't wait to see what she comes up with.

Motivational Quote: "It will take will and effort...It will take vision and boldness." ~ John F. Kennedy

What I'm Reading: I'm currently reading Front Row at the Trump Show by Jonathan Karl. I don't usually read politically based books but one of my sisters kept telling me I needed to read it and loaned me her copy.

Random Things:  I'm going car shopping this coming weekend. I can't wait because I hate my current car. I'm hoping I can get a good deal and buy on the spot so it's done and over with.

Random Photo:

Somebody loves his old bed even though he's clearly out grown it.

Here's his new bed which Mrs. Green sleeps on more than he does.

Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related: Aargh! I had a less than stellar writing week this past week. I'm still working hard to hit my self imposed deadline to finish the second book in the Echo Company series, but it may be the following week before it's done.

Motivational Quote: "Almost all good writing begins with terrible first efforts. You need to start somewhere." ~ Anne Lamott

What I'm Reading: I'm currently reading Crust No One by Winnie Archer. This is the second book in the Bread Shop mystery series.

Random Things: My mom received a new kindle. Who knew it would be such a headache to transfer the apps and games she plays on her old kindle to the new one without losing her progress in the games. Unfortunately, she did have to start over in a couple of them. You would think anything on one kindle could just be transferred to another without an issue considering it's the same device (except for a different version/edition) and is made by the same company.

Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related: I didn't get as many new pages written as the week before, but I realized I needed to move a scene to an earlier area in the book so that's taken care of. It makes the timeline of the story flow much better. I'm still shooting for a completion date of 05/08/21. Unless something unforeseen comes up, I should hit that deadline.

Motivational Quote: "When I dare to be powerful--to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid." ~ Audre Lorde

What I'm Reading: I'm reading Chilled to the Cone by Ellie Alexander. This is the 12th book in the Bakeshop mystery series. I really like this series. If you like cozy mysteries, I highly recommend it.

Random Things: Lt. James Hawkins from Honor Bound and I were interviewed on Thursday, 4/22 on the Wild Women Authors blog. I believe the post will be up until today if you want to check it out. Here's the link: Wild Women Authors
