This week...
My
Current WIP (Work in
Progress): I finished writing the pages I needed to fill the gap I found while working on revisions. Now it's back to revising the remaining pages. I'm not sure how much I'll get accomplished. I have a lot of commitments this week that will be eating up my usual writing time.
Quote of the Week: "Action is the foundational key to all success." ~ Pablo Picasso
What I'm Reading: I started reading Wrapped Up In You by Jill Shalvis over the weekend. It's the eighth book in the Heartbreaker Bay series.
Random Thoughts: Continuing on from last week's Random Thoughts bit, we didn't have a single trick or treater this year so I'm really glad I didn't purchase any candy.

NaNoWriMo
November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo). Participants try to write a 50,000 word manuscript between November 1st and November 30th. Or they may try to do 50,000 words on a current manuscript.
I've never participated because November is a crazy hectic month for me every year. There's the Thanksgiving Holiday and all the baking and prep work that goes along with that, I have a couple of family birthday events, and we usually have out of town relatives stop in for early holiday visits.
While I'm not officially doing NaNoWriMo this year, I am setting a goal of getting about 150 pages of new material written. I say "about" because I think that's all I need to write to finish the current manuscript I'm revising and also add a few more pages to finish another manuscript. I really want to have both done by the end of November.
Getting everything written by the end of this month will allow me a bit free time in December that I can devote to making my holiday cards, baking, and working on the blanket I'm knitting (which I haven't had time to work on in a couple of months other than adding a row here and there) without stressing about how I'll get everything done.

This I know for sure...
I thought I'd take a fun and informal poll today --
If
I got rid of everything that didn't "spark joy", I'd be on the side of
the road with my mom, holding my cats and a box of doughnuts (or maybe a box of cookies). 😄
If you got rid of everything that didn't "spark joy", who would be with you and what would you have? 🤔

What's Up Wednesday
This week...
My Current WIP (Work in Progress): I made a good amount of progress last week - 21 pages of new material. I'm hoping I won't have too much more to write to fill in the gap I found. After that's completed, I can finish the last bit of revising the rest of the pages I have written.
Quote of the Week: "Don't be pushed around by the fears in your mind. Be led by the dreams in your heart." ~ Roy Bennett (I'm repeating last week's quote because I like it so much. It really speaks to me.)
What I'm Reading: I'm still reading Outfox by Sandra Brown. I haven't had a lot of time to read lately.
Random Thoughts: We didn't have any trick or treaters last year so I decided not to purchase any candy. I don't usually eat it myself and I didn't want to have it left over sitting around. Guess what I'm craving now? Yep, mini chocolate candy bars. I'm resisting so far.

Somebody received a clean bill of health on Friday at his appointment. He wasn't happy to go, but he was thrilled to come back home.

This I know for sure...
I'll be taking my cat to the vet later this afternoon for his annual check up. He doesn't like to ride in the car. The veterinary office is only ten minutes from my house, but he usually meows the entire time. I talk to him, telling him that he's okay and that we almost there (or on our way home). Sometimes he'll quiet down with only the occasional, pitiful meow emanating from the carrier.
Trying to get him into the carrier is a feat in and of itself. I have to set it on end vertically with the opening facing up and "pour" him into it, quickly latch the opening, and can then turn it back to its correct horizontal position. Of course, he can't wait to get back into the carrier when his appointment is concluded and we can leave.
Thankfully he usually only has to go to the vet once a year because it's a process getting him into the carrier and out of the carrier at the vet's office. I feel like the whole ordeal is a bit stressful for both of us.
