Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related: I didn't get as many new pages written as the week before, but I realized I needed to move a scene to an earlier area in the book so that's taken care of. It makes the timeline of the story flow much better. I'm still shooting for a completion date of 05/08/21. Unless something unforeseen comes up, I should hit that deadline.

Motivational Quote: "When I dare to be powerful--to use my strength in the service of my vision, then it becomes less and less important whether I am afraid." ~ Audre Lorde

What I'm Reading: I'm reading Chilled to the Cone by Ellie Alexander. This is the 12th book in the Bakeshop mystery series. I really like this series. If you like cozy mysteries, I highly recommend it.

Random Things: Lt. James Hawkins from Honor Bound and I were interviewed on Thursday, 4/22 on the Wild Women Authors blog. I believe the post will be up until today if you want to check it out. Here's the link: Wild Women Authors

Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related: I wrote 25 pages of new material for book #2 in the Echo Company series. I also managed to get the paperback version of Honor Bound formatted and set up for release.

Motivational Quote: "What kept me sane was knowing that things would change, and it was a question of keeping myself together until they did." ~ Nina Simone

What I'm Reading: I'm currently reading Murder, She Knit by Peggy Ehrhart. It's the first book in the Knit and Nibble series. It includes knitting tips and a recipe at the end of the book. While I know how to knit, I prefer to crochet. It seems to work up faster than knitting.

Random Things: I'm thinking of setting up an Instagram account. I've probably mentioned it here in the past, but have never done it. I don't like that I can't use Instagram on my laptop. I don't like having a lot of social media platforms on my phone so that's one reason for my hesitancy. I'm probably one of the few people on the planet that doesn't have Facebook on their phone.

Monday Check In

Last week:

Writing Related: I finished revising all of the pages I'd had previously written of the second book in the Echo Company series. I'm thinking I have about 75 pages to write and the book will be completed. I also contacted the cover artist to get on her calendar to have the cover for the second book made.

Motivational Quote: "Celebrate your successes, no matter how big or how small they are. Every success is worth celebrating." ~ Unknown   I'm repeating last week's quote because it's something I really need to keep in mind.

What I'm Reading:  I finished reading Broken by Rebecca Zanetti on Sunday evening. It's the third book in the Deep Ops series. I really enjoyed it. The dog, Roscoe, is a bit over the top and his antics can be distracting, but overall I would recommend the series to anyone who likes military type romance.

Random Things: My mom and I got our Covid vaccine late last week. It's nice to know that by the end of this month, we'll both be able to see my siblings and other family members in person again.

Monday Check In

Last week...

Writing Related:  Honor Bound went on sale on Amazon last Thursday, April 1st! Only the ebook version is available right now. The paperback version will be available in about two to three weeks. Hopefully closer to the two weeks than three.

Motivational Quote: "Celebrate your successes, no matter how big or how small they are. Every success is worth celebrating." ~ Unknown

What I'm Reading: I'm still reading Scone Cold Killer by Lena Gregory. I've been so busy I've had next to no time to read. I usually read every night before going to sleep, but I've been so tired that I barely read a page or two before I fall asleep only to wake up an hour or so later to find the lamp still on and the book on the bed next to me. I hope to finish it today.

Random Things:  I made a key lime pie for dessert for Easter Sunday even though we didn't have anyone over for dinner. I'll be glad when we can start celebrating the holidays with family members again.
