Romancing Your E-Reader Book Bash -- 26 Romances, Two Grand Prizes

Congratulations to our winners:
1st Place Winner - Melissa S.
2nd Place Winner - Hilary

Did you receive a new e-reader as a gift this holiday season?
If so, then have I got news for you.
22 Authors – 27 E-book Romances – Two Grand Prize Winners!
Two lucky winners will be filling their new readers with free romance e-books.
First prize: 15 titles
 Second prize: 12 titles

How do you win? Simple. All of the contributing authors have posted the blurb from their book at their websites (links below) and have asked a question about their blurb. Answer the question in a comment at each site. Each question answered is another entry toward one of the two grand prizes. And that’s not all. Many of the hops along the way are offering individual prizes as well. So be sure to visit as many as you can.
( Grand prize winners will be announced on the 30th.)

My contribution to the book bash is my new historical romance novel, An Unexpected Gift, which is set in the Regency period.

 Blurb:
Known only as Lazarus to the band of cutthroats and thieves he leads, William Prescott will do anything to find his missing sister, even blackmail a fragile young woman into helping him. But he never plans to fall in love with this mysterious woman with a troubled past.

Haunted by the memories of war, Olivia St. Germaine wants nothing more than to live a normal life. But when her brother, a doctor, suddenly leaves town without a word, she is forced to use her medical knowledge to help an injured man who puts her life in danger. Can she keep herself safe as she tends Lazarus, or is her heart more vulnerable than she realizes?

Here's my question:  What's your favorite historical hero type?  Does a handsome Earl make you swoon, or do you prefer a Scottish Laird, or a rough and tumble cowboy?

Don’t forget to leave your answer in the comments along with contact information.  And don't forget to check out the rest of the titles being offered in the book bash. The links are listed below. Read the blurbs on each site and answer the questions for more chances to win. Good luck!

    1. Hi Beckey,
I agree with you, it depends on what I'm in the mood to read too. Thanks for stopping in and entering the contest.

  2. I'm going to be the oddball out...but I hate alphas. I really am tired of controlling, domineering alpha males and I don't find them sexy at all. I'd have to say...a hero that is manly and comfortable with his manliness enough not to lord it over and remind the woman every fifth page. LOL tchevrestt(at)yahoo.com

    1. Hi Tara,
I'm not a big fan of the domineering hero who thinks he is better than women just because he's a man either. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Scottish Laird, or a cowboy will do for me. Give me a cowboy with Scottish accent and I'm in heaven. lol

I prefer the underdog who comes through and saves the day over the Alpha hero.

Pirates! How could I have forgotten to include pirates? They are definitely swoon worthy. LOL.

  5. I do love a Scottish Laird. Nothing quite like a Highlander to me, I'm afraid. :) Very neat contest and a great giveaway! :)

    1. Hi Melissa,
There is nothing like a Highlander. Though he's not a Highlander, as far as I know, I've always said I would follow Sean Connery any where just so I could listen to him speak. I love the accent.

  6. I'll always love Gibaldon's Jamie in the Outlander series. He set the bar so high, it's hard for another hero to measure up!

    1. Hi Rolynn,
I hate to admit it but, I've never read the Outlander series. I have the feeling I'm missing something great.

    1. Hi,
Other than Regency heroes, I'm partial to cowboys too. Could be because my father rode horses. Thanks for stopping in.

  8. Katherine, I prefer a cowboy, tough on the outside, but sentimental on the inside. Of course, I also like the Scottish laird, so a Scottish cowboy would be perfect. ☺

    1. Hi Kathryn,

It seems Scottish Lairds are by far the favorite with cowboys coming in a close second. I wonder what that says about us modern women. LOL

  10. It does not matter what time they are in past contemperay future. Or the station they hold lord, slave, pirate. As long as they are strong true and honest I love reading about them.

What a great way to describe what appeals most to readers of romance - a man who is true, honest, and strong. Thanks for stopping by.

  12. I like a man who has a confident air about him, whether he's a cowboy or Scot in a kilt. I love the swagger, the ornery sense of humor and the tender heart for animals and the lady he allows to rule his heart.

    1. Hi Vonnie,

Anyone who has a soft spot for animals wins my heart, but I like the way you phrased it better.

  13. It all depends on the mood I'm in and I do love almost all the heroes. I prefer the hero to be the nice guy that's not too arrogant. I do love me a cowboy though. There is just something about the hat and the boots and the gritty calloused hands of a man that does manual labor.

    1. Hi Shannon,

It depends on my mood too. I have to say there are very few heroes I don't like. I have to agree with you - there is something about a man with calloused hands. :o)

    1. Hi Dani-Lyn,

I like to read about those rough and tumble cowboys too. I seem to prefer the cowboys in historical settings though over contemporary settings, must be the lawlessness of the times that make them more appealing. Thanks for stopping by.
